Top Detangling Tips

In a past post I mentioned that I am very particular about how my hair is detangled. The reason for that is because for years I was rough the detangling my hair and I was convinced that my hair was just not growing. The truth was, my hair was growing but snatching a comb through my strands was breaking and ripping it off as a result there were a number of years in which I was not retaining length.

Naturally Curly has some suggested tips on how to detangle curly hair as well a number of other sites such Thirsty Roots However, it is important to learn your hair so that you can effectively use the detangling methods that are right from you.

My Top Detangling Tips:
• Use a wide tooth comb
• Lubricate the hair with a "cheapie" conditioner
• As you detangle glide your finger down your hair to remove shed hairs
• Detangle in small sections and clip/twist them in place to keep the hair from getting tangled again
• Never ever ever start detangling at the roots, always start at the ends
