"Be brave. Take risks. Nothing can substitute experience."- Paulo Coelho
This was long overdue, long long long overdue. What's "this"? A professional cut!
After years of getting at-home trims and only 1 salon trim, I finally got up the courage to visit a salon and ask a cut. I think what made this process a little less scary was the fact that the stylist was a longtime friend. We met in college and she has always been such a beautiful person inside and out. I now actually regret not using her for my wedding day and all times in between then and now. Going with friends can be hit or miss but thankfully this one was definitely a HIT! I'm satisfied. It also felt great to have someone else wash my hair for a change.
At first I was going to ask for just a trim because I was scared of a drastic change. But you know what? It's just hair and it will grow back. So I got over my fear and requested long layers. I love the way my hair looks straight now. I use to hate it straight so I guess I just needed to add some shape to it. The curls are perfect and so easy to maintain. The first night I pin-curled my hair, after that I have been gathering my hair into a loose high pony, apply a little coconut oil, and put in some flexi-rods. There has been no heat applied to my hair since the salon visit.
During the process my hair (in this order) was:
- Deep Conditioned
- Flat ironed
